Love this email from Vance, a smartr user

Hi Temo,

YOU SON OF A BISCUIT!!! How could you not send me a beta prior to yesterday's update!!!! lol.

This update is fantastic!!!

Adding the complete tweet at the top makes perfect sense. And the redesign of the Full Screen option, along with easy access to change fonts and styles within the article was masterful. This app is so much fun!

Thanks Vance :)

Looking for iPad testers

We are almost done with the iPad version of Smartr. It's starting to look great, but we still need to find all the outstanding issues and make sure the app is ready for prime time. If you have an iPad and would like to test the beta version, please reach me at marc@factyle.com and I will send you instructions. Thank you!

Smartr api - withdrawn until further notice

Sorry folks, I know that some of you have been using the Smartr API quite regularly - but we can't support it until we get some new hardware. Smartr the iPhone app has been seeing tremendous amount of traffic and our servers need to prioritize calls from our applications.

Please feel free to contact us personally if you want to continue using our API.

Best, Temo.

What's new in 1.5

See all your tweets in Smartr v1.5!

We listened to your feedback and it's now possible to see all your tweets from within Smartr. We still format the meaningful urls, so you can continue to enjoy the benefits of Smartr while viewing all your tweets.

In addition to articles, we started to format images and videos as well, so you should start to see them prefetched for tweets that have them (for instance twitpic and youtube). Also, we fixed an issue that was slowing down scrolling and a few minor bugs. We haven't heard of any crashes, let us know if you experience them! They are not tolerated :-)

Lastly, we now append "/via @smartrmobi" to your tweets if there is enough space. You can disable it in the settings, but if you love the app please consider keeping it. It helps us tremendously!

Smartr api - a free api to build apps like Smartr, Flipboard and Lazyscope

Applications like Flipboard, Lazyscope, and Smartr.mobi are all built using backend technology that prefetches web content, and cleans it up for better readability.

We've come across many developers with great ideas for apps but who get stuck with the implementation and scaling of an algorithm that does cleanup. So we're putting out our backend servers through a free api so you can build amazing applications without worrying about all the backend stuff!

Try it out at http://cln.me/api

This api has three main features :
  1. provides an embeddable piece of multimedia for almost any link,
  2. provides important metadata about content inside a webpage ( text, title, images, videos, etc in json format) and finally,
  3. renders most webpages into a beautiful readable format for phones and tablets.
